The Athens public transportation network offers a wide range of routes, combining many different means, including the metro, trains, buses, trolleybuses and the tram.
Metro
The Athens Metro serves all major city spots and sites of interest with several new stations being added to the network every year. Apart from safety, speed and comfort, passengers also enjoy the unique opportunity to see in-station displays of the ancient ruins and findings that were discovered during the metro construction.
The IAPCO 2026 venue, the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre, is served by the Metro station “Megaro Moussikis” on the blue line (line 2), connecting it directly to the city centre in 4 minutes/ 2 stops and to the Airport in 35 minutes.
Tram
The Athens Tram completes the transportation network of Athens Metropolitan area and offers among other routes a charming ride along the coastline of the city, from Voula to Faliro.
Trolley Buses & Buses
Trolley buses and buses can take you anywhere in the city and in the suburbs. In most of the trolleybus /bus stops computerized signs tell you what time the next trolleybus/bus is coming.
